The aim of this programme is to train students to help solve challenges in the teaching and learning of Early Childhood Education.
The programme has the following specific objectives;
- To understand of literature and concepts concerning Early Childhood Education practice
- To equip students with deeper knowledge of Early Childhood Education content.
- To equip students with strategies that can improve learners/pupils’ motivation through interactive problem-solving activities.
- To equip students with practical skills to carry out independent research in Early Childhood Education.
Learning outcomes of the programme include:
- Have deeper understand of literature and concepts concerning Early Childhood Education practice
- Have deeper knowledge of Early Childhood Education to assist them to teach students
- Have developed strategies that can improve learners/pupils’ motivation through interactive problem-solving activities
- Have practical skills to carry out independent research in Early childhood Education.
Admission Eligibility
- A good first degree (at least a Second Class Lower Division) in education or any related field of study from an accredited University; or
- A Third Class degree or Pass graduates will attend selection interview and would be admitted after passing the interview.

iii. An applicant with a 12-month M.A/Med. In Educational Studies/ Educational Administration/Educational Planning degree who wishes to enroll on the M.Phil. programme may be required to take additional courses and present a thesis as prescribed by the Division
